Ahhh yes... Australia day... The first two pictures I took whilst standing on the back of a bike with my friend riding along... he lives in northbridge so we decided it would be best to cycle in, and why sit on the back when i could stand! definately got some strange looks on the way to the south-perth foreshore, but aahh it was great fun! thanks Richard! =)

Stencils and Sunsets, yeah not really much to say about these - but I like 'em!

I saw this sign in a clothing shop advertising for gift vouchers, I'm not sure what they are saying about the merchandise in the shop (most of it is crap?) but I found it funny how blunt advertising has gotten these days.. heh =)
ahh yes, pizza for lunch today - met up with some of the boys in the city and got myself some "NYC Pizza"... kinda funny, because when I was in New York, I did'nt actually see a huge amount of pizza shops selling pizza by the slice, however I think I came across a few 'NYC Pizza' shops when I was in Canada.. speaking about Canada, it was awesome over there buying pizza by the slice, some places sold top quality pizza for $1.75 per slice!, needless to say most nights in vancouver I would eat pizza for dinner. The cheapest I have seen over here is ~$4 per slice... but hey, we can buy a whole pizza for $5.95 so its not too bad.
yes its Another car.. this one is a nissan silvia with a sweet looking bodykit, these kinda cars are not for everyones taste, but I love 'em.. the engines in these cars are usually 2L turbos (Awesome) .. and the car is designed for minimum weight, with maximum handling - so sitting in the back is good for children or hunchbacks or a couple of racing helments, fire extinguisher and a video camera, but who cares - most of the time only 1 or 2 people are sitting in the car anyway. I really like the way the car didn't compromise rear seat comfort for weight and performance.
The weather today has been very interesting, this morning it looked like it may rain, then mid-day it started to clear up, now I look out the window and the sky is quite blue!.. I must admit I'm not complaining - usually it would be quite hot, today is quite comfortable... a little humid.. but good.

Found this car sitting outside the mustang bar last night
, as you can probably tell by now - I have a bit of a thing for cars, and old cars like this are just so photogenic =) Alot of the modern cars just dont have the same asthetic appeal as these old ones, you can definately see the style that they put into this one.. it would be interesting to have a camera inside the car take a snapshot every year for its life to see where its been and who has been in it, cars like these are kinda like time-capsules, when you sit in them, you experience a small part of what previous generations have experienced.

This has to be the height of excitement for kids this year, you can own your very own "Librarian action figure" mmm.. is that a computer i see on the right hand side?, you even get a stack of books.. does Barbie still have a chance of winning Ken's heart with "Nancy Pearl" the librarian on the scene? ;-)

Todays photo... A car! but not just any car, this bad boy is an american mustang, in mint condition sitting in Perth.. I definately have respect for people that keep their cars in such good condition.I took my lancer out last night on the wet roads, she needed a run and it was fun getting a little bit of easy wheelspin/sliding action here and there.. If only there was a place that I was legally allowed to 'play' with my car and push it to its limits, it would be awesome to own a farm or a large property.. Alot of guys I know have this urge to play/go fast/get sideways/do burnouts etc but we have no where to go to do it unless we are a member of a car club which can get to be quite expensive, even then you have to wait for a 'track day' or a race.. one of the main advantages of having a 4x4 is that you can go offroad and 'have a play' without worrying about other traffic and cops on your tail.. well.. unless you do it in certain sand-dunes near perth, but thats another story...

.. So I was trying to take a quick photo to show todays crazy weather, which do you guys think works better.. this one, or the one below?I find it a bit strange that people arent more concerned about the weather, or perhaps I'm just not old enough to realise a rainy day in january happens once in a while. .hmmm..

Monday night, Mustang Bar, Rockabilly. What is "Rockabilly" you may ask? rockabilly music is kinda like the modern interpretation of elvis, thats probably the best I can explain it.. its also a style of dancing - I've done a few classes, its good fun =)Rockabilly is inspired by the 50s where lindy-hop/swing is inspired by the 30s and 40s.

No 4x
4ing trip is complete without a few cars getting stuck, heres a pic of conrad's car getting stuck in the sand.. you cant see it but hes on the edge of a big dune.. unfortunately my phone ran out of batteries and i wasnt able to take any more pics!.. anyway after playing around in the main lancelin dunes we headed north along a few tracks inland then along the beach to wedge island.. Wedge island is this crazy place here in West Australia where people have built shacks more or less in the middle of no-where on the coast.. I don't think anyone actually 'owns' the land but they pay rates.. I think alot of people just have a shared holiday shack with their mates up here.. all of em seem to be constructed out of old rusty corrogated steel, although some are painted.. quite a few have antennas kicking out off the roof so i guess some-body/every-body has a generator.. over 1 or 2 sand dunes from the 'village' is the beach and there is the actual 'wedge island' that was probably about 300m out from the edge of the land.. the four of us swam out to the island and chilled there for a while, came back and towed eachother around in a plastic clamshel (the things kids use for sandpits and stuff).. it was awesome fun.. really similar to tubeing, but on sand and a little more painful hehe.. I've got some ideas for the next version of the clam-shell-towing-device.. (more padding being one of them).. One strange thing that happened during the day is that I got a bee-sting while clambering around on a sand dune!!.. no plants in sight! really weird!! I havent had a beesting for years, and im kinda illergic to them.. well i used to be.. luckily my aunt had this cream that I put on and it made my hand kinda numb and stopped any major swelling, today my body is feeling really tired.. im not sure if its to do with the sting, or just having a really big day yesterday.. ah well.. Good times, Good times..

Watched a movie at a friend's house yesterday, came outside and everything was glowing orange.. it looked really surreal.. probably because the contrast from the dark-ish movie watching area to the sunset, so i took a photo with my camera, unfortunately the colours didnt come out right so i coloured the picture a little.. shame - my phone camera doesnt seem to produce bright colours and everything is a bit washed out.. everything had an orange glow outside while the sun was setting which was really cool and enjoyable.. oh and its finally starting to feel like summer here in Australia! yesss!

this is a shot of the main party i was at last night for new years.. aaaaaaaaah good times!! the place was packed! im not very good at numbers but there were more people there then are at the mustang bar some weeks.. 400+?basically a friend of church (Davies) has had an annual party for the past 3 years at his place in cottesloe, this year was the last and biggest.. most of the crew were made up from people from different churches around Perth and it was awesome cuz I knew stacks of people there.. (~35%?) so I was jumping around saying hello to everyone, ahh its great to get everyone together.. heh three of my cousins and some friends from swing dancing were there too!! although no swing dancing unfortunately!
we hooked up like 8 speakers, and disco lights and stuff inside (dancefloor was PACKED), had all the couches kickin around in the garden, 2 rented outdoor toilets, heaters, etc etc.. yeah.. definately the nye party to be at.. went along with my mate richard and we had a great night.
aaahh... the same stop sign, but more of a symbollic shot.. powerlines crossing over in the background
.. kinda inspires me to take a higher quality one with my good digital camera .. although there is something artistically appealing about trying to take good shots with a low-quality camera like my phonecamera.......
Happy new years everyone!! hope you all had a really great night!my night was pretty awesome went to two parties, got home at like 4.30am, only thing is my cd player face seems to have dissapeared (ergh!) i think it fell on the ground outside davis's place so if anyones seen a cdplayer face kickin around, pleez let me know.. *sigh* I wonder how much it is to buy a new one these days.. anyway.. so I saw this picture on my way out to one of the parties, jumped outa the car and took a picture.. its kinda ghetto (which is kinda the canadian word for 'darro' but a bit more urbanised) .. perhaps a stencil would have looked better in this situation with white paint.. ah but anyway...
the sign that says 'remember' is still sitting there with nothing underneath.. ive been very tempted to paste something on there.. hrrmmm.. incase you cant see the spray paint underneath the stop sign on the picture.. it says 'racism'
